Michael Anthony Garcia


Austin based multidisciplinary artist & independent curator Michael Anthony García received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1996. Since then he has predominantly focused his practice around installation & performance work.
He is a founding member of Los Outsiders curatorial collective & has curated large-scale exhibitions of international artists, in & out of the US, participated in the 2011 Texas Biennial & has won awards both for his curatorial & 3D work.
García premiered new work at International Performance Art Biennale in Houston, TX, as well as The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, TX, and was part of an ArtPlace Grant-funded creative placemaking project with Los Outsiders for Drawing Lines & recently completed a commissioned public art TEMPO project for the City of Austin.
